71000 'Duke of Gloucester' hauls the southbound Carlisle to Crewe leg of 'The Cumbrian Coast Explorer' down the S&C, seen here at Birkett Common. The train had shall we say a rather colourfull rake of coaching stock which dictated my choice of location and angle for the picture.
