What was once the NRM's flagship engine, 46229 ' Duchess of Hamilton' crosses the River Ribble at Sheriff Brow moments before a freezing snow storm engulfed the scene. A good number of photters are on the mound alongside the occupation bridge on the approach to this location and no doubt they were as cold as I was by the time they had got back to their cars.
