Passing the site of where Ais Gill signal box used to stand 46115 in some very nice early evening sunshine makes her way on to Hellifield with the Carlisle - York, Dalesman. 54 years ago on this day by this time it would have been ' all over ' - or so we thought. In very stark contrast to the hundreds of cars that blocked the road adjacent to the line all those years ago, you could have counted the cars on two hands to witness the ' Scot ' on yet another anniversary milestone.The Dalesman 46115 11.08.2022
